The "look" that FF Classic Prime Line can offer will enable cinematographers to explore new possibilities in movie creation. "Classic Art Prime" is a new solution from SIGMA that is required for the most advanced technology for classical expression. A special coating is implemented on the front and rear elements so that the lens durability is ensured as with all other cine lenses from SIGMA. Furthermore, it is compatible with the communication protocol of Cooke "/i Technology", thus an ideal tool for shooting and editing with the latest technology, such as VFX. This will greatly contribute to the effective workflow in postproduction. As with all other lenses from the FF High Speed Prime Line, it creates beautiful bokeh effects to improve creativity.įF Classic Prime Line has implemented newly developed coatings on the glass elements and offers consistent T value across the lineup (14mm and 135mm at T3.2 and the rest of the lenses at T2.5). It retains the high resolution capability that SIGMA CINE LENS is well known for, and offers a unique combination of low contrast and artistic flare/ghost in the image. Based on this product line, the FF Classic Prime Line incorporates more non-coated optical elements to achieve unrivaled expression. I'll probably re-buy soon the Sigma in dslr mount (or the old EF 135 if I find a super cheap copy under 400€), and then will switch it to a ML mount lens as the last piece of equipment to do so.FF High Speed Prime Line has been offering the highest resolving power in its class, that is compatible with 8K shooting with large format sensors, while achieving outstanding compact design. In the medium run I want to get again a 135 f1.8 as the Sigma is stellar and I really regret to have sold it, but if in 3/5 years a good used copy of the RF 135 is not far from Sigma's prices, I may well go for the Canon for the IS. If Canon is re-doing a 20mm f2.8 and price is in line with 24/35 STM, I'll probably go with it, if there are no viable third party alternatives. The RF 24 STM would be just fine, but it's too close to 35mm, I need something wider, but not down to the actual 16mm. On an even shorter run, surely I'd love the Tamron 35-150 so I can ditch both 24-70 and 70-200 (here I would even consider to buy a brand new copy in 6/12 months from release, as going from a 2 lens setup to a single lens setup could be worth the immediate investment).Īfter doing that, finding something decent but cheap 18/20ish around f1.8/2 to complement the 35-150 and ditch the RF 16 which is too wide for what I do. In the short run the most interesting stuff for my personal needs are the 85 f1.4 and a 35/40/50 f1.4 which are my most used lenses. FF High Speed Prime Line has been offering the highest resolving power in its class, that is compatible with 8K shooting with large format sensors while achieving an outstanding compact design. Hope third party RF stuff is coming as soon as possible, so it will start to hit the used market in 2/3 years from now, and I can finally start swapping my EF lenses. The SIGMA Corporation is pleased to announce the launch of FF Classic Prime Line as a new series in the SIGMA CINE LENS. We don't want to speculate on what sort of lenses Sigma will bring first to the RF mount, but we do suspect at least a couple of lenses above will be part of the initial lineup.
